Overview
Founded in 2013, San José Dragon Boat is a team-based water sports team that promotes community, drive, and growth both on land and water.
The team of student-athletes compete against other competitive teams throughout California, with some members going as far as to race internationally in Canada and more.
This diverse team welcomes paddlers of all genders, identities and experience levels, from complete beginners to veterans.
Purpose
The team garners 30 to 50 members year-round, but member retention is a challenge due to the niche sport and fees.
My goal is to develop engaging content on Instagram and execute in-person events that would provide a worthwhile member experience to improve retention, satisfaction, and a sense of community.
